Description
The Henstooth Homestead Adopt-A-Hive is a NEW 2018 program!
It’s simple – people like us can’t grow food for people like you without bees.
Along with a wide array of wild plants our property is full of apples, pears, peaches, blueberries and a lush garden to feed the honey bees! With everything in order, we’re slowly starting to add honey bee hives to help pollinate our crops and restore the dwindling honey bee population.
Bee populations in general, have declined over the years due to the use of harsh pesticides, diseases and parasites. While our farm is not certified organic (yet), we use sustainable practices in hopes of soon gaining that recognition. Adding honey bees to our homestead is just one more step in the right direction for growing good for them (and you), ethically.
Want to help save the bees? Join our Adopt-A-Hive program.
- Hive Share – There are four shares to one hive, giving you recognition on our website, name up to 4 bees and receive two jars of honey!
- Adopt Half A Hive – Share your hive with others by adopting half a hive, get regular newsletter & photo updates, recognition on our website, name up to 4 bees and receive 2 pounds of honey!
- Adopt a Hive – Claim your own hive with name recognition on the hive, regular newsletter & photo updates, recognition on our website and 5 pounds of honey! All honey produced from your hive, will have your hive name on the label!
With the Henstooth Homestead, your support goes directly the our honey bees through building new hives, maintaining current hives, growing our bee population, adding new food sources, and harvesting honey. We’re so excited to be able to offer this new program and hope you’ll join us in saving the honey bees. So what are you waiting for? Adopt today!
The Henstooth Homestead Adopt-A-Hive program is annually based. Owners will have the option of renewing their adoption annually, with new hives added every year. If all our hives are adopted, you can still support our cause through the Name A Bee program – coming soon! Since this is a new program, we may not be able to harvest first year honey. If you adopt a hive (half or whole) this year, you’ll still gain the above recognition but honey may be sent at a later date.
