What Should I Expect At My First Pick-Up?

When you show up to the location you’ve designated at registration, we’ll have an organic fair trade cotton tote packed and ready to go!

Do I Need To Bring Anything For Pick-Up?

Your first week, you won’t need to bring a thing! Your second week, you’ll want to bring your empty tote back. We’ve designated two totes for each of our CSA members to swap back and forth. Your first week your new tote will be packed and ready to go. From that week on simply trade in your empty tote from last week and grab a full one!

What If I Forgot My Tote?

Life happens, so if you forgot your tote this week – no worries! We keep a few recycled plastic bags on hand and will gladly transfer your produce and goods into a temporary bag for you to take home. Just don’t forget it next week, or else…

What If I Don't Show Up?

If you don’t arrive to your designated pick-up location between the time frame provided, we will give you one courtesy call to the number you provided during registration. If you don’t answer, you’re out of luck.

What If I Don't Pick-Up My Share?

If you are unable to pick up your share during a specific week you have a couple options:

  1. You can designate someone else* to pick up your share, just shoot us an email so we know who we should be expecting. *We will not provide your share to anyone other than you, unless we receive an email informing us of the exchange. 
  2. If you have a schedule conflict and would like to pick up your share from our farm over the weekend during farmstand hours, please let us know and we’ll be happy to accommodate.

If you miss picking up your share we will not make up missed weeks and can not deliver outside of our normal CSA delivery schedule or farmstand pick-up hours.

Will I Be Able To Plan My Meals For The Week?

We will provide a weekly list of items you can expect in your CSA package each Sunday. However, your produce is picked the same day it is delivered so you may receive a couple surprises.

Do I Need To Wash My Produce?

Yes. All produce goes through some degree of washing and sorting, however, we wash our produce to remove excess soil and inspect for quality. We do not sell our produce or package our csa totes as ready to eat products and encourage all customers to wash your vegetables and produce before preparing them.

We do our absolute best to keep an open line of communication. If you have any questions or concerns the best way to reach us is via email. In addition we’ll post on Instagram regularly with a behind the scenes look at all things Henstooth Homestead. We’ll also post weekly CSA package contents on Facebook, and plan to email you each week with our newest farm happenings, upcoming seasonal produce and recipes to help you use your CSA contents.
